Your gift no matter the size helps us preserve and promote the history of this historical  African American community. Funds will also be used to protect the community against the constant threats of erosion, rising sea levels, tidal flooding of our street. Our current projects include archiving historical data, dune restoration, rain gardens, repairs to shared community areas, establishing matching funds for grants and establishing a land trust.

What is Giving Tuesday?

GivingTuesday began in 2012 and is a special day dedicated to giving back to the causes meaningful to you. Each year, on the Tuesday following US Thanksgiving, people all over the world come together for one common purpose: to celebrate generosity by volunteering and donating.

You can be a part of our GivingTuesday campaign by joining your family, community or organization to come together to contribute. Then share with everyone you know that you celebrated #GivingTuesday and how they can pay it forward to bring more good into the world!

The Ocean City Community is part of the NC Civil Rights Trail. This work is supported by the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, and presented by the NC African American Heritage Commission in partnership with the NC Office of Archives & History and Visit NC.
